19th century chest of drawers in rosewood
Chest of drawers with 4 drawers, made in the Neapolitan area in 1870/1880.
Expert craftsmanship, excellent choice of wood.
Classic and elegant Neapolitan chest of drawers with browned columns. Original marble top. The rest of the furniture is also in good condition. Necessary additions to the veneer largely in the lower area of the chest of drawers. Completely original poplar wood structure, there are also intermediate shelves between one drawer and another to avoid falling material and accumulation of dirt. High chest of drawers suitable for classic furnishings or to give added value to more modern furnishings or to a studio or commercial business. Completely free of woodworms and completely revised even in the structure which has regained its stability. Style locks and hardware, style brass escutcheons.
Restoration:
On the piece of furniture we opted for a complete restoration of the structure which was completely redone where not recoverable (in the area behind it and in the drawer guides). As regards the internal structure of the drawers and all the bottoms, the original poplar ones have been recovered and reinforced. Anti-woodworm treatment to remove xylophagous insects present. Re-browning of the columns and horizontal elements, repainting and shellac polishing as per the original furniture. Good quality furniture.
